Bodyguard Training Course Round Up

Just wanted to take a moment to thank the staff and students that participated in the May Celebrity Protection Course by Icon Services Corporation, in conjunction with Trojan Securities International. The 5 day course was a diverse and interesting mix of established operators and newcomers alike that covered a wide variety of topics from how to identify — and market to, potential clients, to the proper actions (and reactions) for dealing with stalkers and other threats.

I was impressed by the level on participation that all parties brought to the training. Despite the fatigue, changing weather and injuries (there were a couple) plus the many curve balls the instructors threw at the students, it looks like everyone took away something useful that will help them in their careers in Executive Protection.

Celebrity Protection Course Round Up

Well, the February 2008 Celebrity Protection Course was a success!  Conducted over 5 days by Icon Services Corporation and Trojan Securities International, we put the students thru an intense (and admittedly sometimes grueling) mix of lectures, drills and realistic scenarios. (with a few surprises thrown in)   I’d like to thank everyone who participated and encourage you all to keep setting high standards in your goal to be the best you can be in the industry.

Celebrity Bodyguard Training Course: February 4-8

Just wanted to remind readers that the Celebrity Protection Course I will be instructing in conjunction with Trojan Securities International will be held Feb. 4-8, 2008 

I’m doing my best to make sure this course is unlike anything currently offered in the industry and will be as informative (and tough) for those looking to start a career as a bodyguard as well as those currently in the business.  Plus, ask around in military Special Operation circles about Trojan’s reputation and you’ll know those guys train Tier 1 operators all over the world.

Celebrity Bodyguard Training Course

The # 1 question I get (well besides “Are you hiring?”) is “Where can I get the right bodyguard training“?

In the past I believe I’ve done a pretty good job of trying to inform people of the importance of training, and have recommended some of the top schools in the industry, –which range from pricey to priceless.  

Followers of my Blog know that this year, practicing what I preach, I took some time off for continuing education and attended Trojan Securities International’s: Advanced Executive Protection Course.   Let’s just say I found the experience to be both mentally and physically challenging and even after being in the business for 14 years, I learned a lot. 

Since then our relationship has continued to grow and at this time I’m proud to announce that Trojan and I have entered into a joint venture to offer a Celebrity Protection course for individuals interested in getting more involved in the VIP side of the bodyguard industry.  I’ll be teaching the course with the assistance of their more than qualified instructors, and the plan is to make it a challenging, informative and rewarding hands-on experience.

Enrollment in the classes is limited, and subject to approval as Trojan (and me) have some pretty high standards.  However, if you’re interested in the course, I’d recommend checking out their website and then reaching out for more information.

2008 is going to be a very busy year for me, but I guess I can sleep when I’m 60.
