ICON Scholarship Program

The ICON Academy Scholarship

The ICON Academy Scholarship program is an achievement based program available for potential course attendees who are interested in the Close Protection Programs offered by ICON. The program is the result of a private philanthropic grant from an existing ICON client who believes in the value of quality training and continuing education.  Four scholarships will be awarded annually based on predetermined criteria and judged by the Selection Committee.  Recipients of the scholarships will receive their tuition paid in full for the 5-day ICON CPC Course.

  • Scholarships will be awarded based on leadership abilities, contributions to community, character, and financial need
  • Applicants who are not selected may reapply for awards quarterly (with documentation renewal)

Deadlines for Submission

Applicant deadline for January Courses:  December 1, 2011

January Scholarship Selection:  December  5, 2011

Applicant deadline for April 2012 Courses:  March 1, 2012

April 2012 Scholarship Selection:  March  5, 2012

Applicant must:

  • Complete the appropriate course applications (CPC or AEC)
  • Be 21 years of age or older and not a relative of current ICON Staff
  • Have a clean Criminal Record
  • Submit a 1 page original essay (600 words) on why Close Protection Training is important to you as an individual
  • Submit 4 hours of documented time volunteering on a charitable project that benefits others
  • Possess a desire to pursue educational and career goals; and wish to develop well-rounded skill sets in the area of VIP Protection
